A german version is published by Dietrich in Göttingen. It is named as:"Wunderbare Reisen zu Wasser und zu Lande. Feldzüge und lustige Abenteuer des Freiherrn von Münchhausen, wie er dieselben bei der Flasche im Zirkel seiner Freunde selbst zu erzählen pflegt."

Expelled from the Russian army for not returning from an extended leave Hyeronimus is pensioned off and does what any man of reason would do: spends the rest of his life telling tall tales of hunting and adventures abroad.
